Follow Me, Everything Is Alright

The ship has been wrecked. Everyone is in the water. The scene is utter chaos. Desperate survivors are thrashing frantically in the stormy sea, panic rises. Nobody knows what to do. Noone gives directions.

How do you know which way leads to shore? Which person to follow?

Those who know where they are going don't play follow-the-leader.

In a confused world, we need to be clear of our direction, or we will be dragged along by the current.

"Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me."

two more seconds to your blessing

2 hours. That's how long I waited for the bus to come. That's a long time to an average busy/impatient person. Long enough to calculate that an average of 12.72 Malaysian-made cars can be seen passing by any given point on the Federal Highway per minute. In fact, it's enough time to conjure up vehement protest letters in your head to berate the Transport Minister for the sorry state of public transportation.

Although absorbing noxious fumes (a.k.a waiting for a bus) is a vocation as admirable as watching paint dry, I had enough after 2 futile hours and decided to take an LRT instead. As I climbed up the stairs, marveling my ingenious problem-solving, my roving eyes happeend to glance down at the Federal Highway.

What else should I see but the bus I was waiting for.

Of course I ran. As swift as a cheetah closing in for the kill. Alas, I am no cheetah, and the bus had a significant headstart. I could only manage a glimpse of blackened smoke spewing out from the tail end of Metrobus No. 13 (Subang Jaya).

"Why? Oh God?" I lamented. "Can't you do me a favor since i'm on the way to church?"

Then He spoke. The voice that calmed a thousand seas, the voice that created me.

"Sometimes you get tired of waiting for something to show up. But don't give up. Hold on just a little longer. The time of arrival is so very near. Don't cut short your own blessing by your impatience. Don't miss the bus."

Of wanna-be singers and desperado drivers

Hear ye, hear ye, babies and jaded-men, here's a glimpse of what you can expect for the week to come:

Saturday, 23rd September 2006, we're going go-karting! Do consider yourself a *ahem* good driver? Maybe you fantasize about being the wheels that make Michael Schumacher's Ferarri turn? Or you terror may grip you when your fingers closer over the steering wheel. In any case, get those checkered flags ready and we'll have a ferocious race! Now hiring drivers and pit crew... see you at the finish line! 6pm, Sunway Extreme Park, come prepared.

doors

Each year we pass through a lot of doors - front doors, back doors, revolving doors, automatic doors, sliding glass doors, car doors. Have you ever prayed for God to open a certain door, only to see another, seemingly insignificant door open instead? Sometimes its often those doors, those 'hallway' doors of life, that are the very ones that lead to the best opportunities.

They may not look very promising on the outside, but God wants to know that we are willing to follow him even when we don't exactly know where he's leading. He has promised to lead ang guide us, and he'll test us to see if we'll humble ourselves enough to walk through that hallway door to his blessings, or if we're just going to stand on the outside and complain.

weekday mayhem

Just a little update on our weekly activities, where we would love to meet up with you, have a nice chat, and maybe try to twist your arm into buying us dinner. No, no, we won't do that. Maybe just a drink. Ok, let's see,
  • Mondays are set aside for sports. At the moment, there is only one sport, which is futsal. We intend to expand to badminton, table tennis, paintball, and therapy for bruised egos in the near future.

  • Tuesdays are where the hip shakers, knee wobblers, and head thumping people gather for dance fellowship. Salsa, hip hop, ballroom, tango, and amatuers dancers are all welcomed. Arcade dancers need not apply.

  • Wednesdays are reserved as education night. Bible knowledge classes hope to someday run concurrently with english, math, and arts classes.

  • Thursdays fill the night with music because guitar and vocal lessons are in order. Think you're not musically talented? What are classes for?

  • Fridays are destined to be something great. Just haven't figured out the menu of the day yet.

So if you see something you like, you can contact sean@0129110569 or hosanna@0127290470 for more information. We promise not to make you buy us dinner. Cheers!

take a dive

Bringing new meaning to 'wearing your heart on your sleeve', Emmanuel poses for the camera sporting a rather old 'sleeveless' shirt and a brand new heart. Standing with him, close friend and fellow dunk buddy, David wishes he thought of the t-shirt idea too.

Before the plunge however, the both could hardly hide their excitement and nerves. As they waited for their turn barefooted and in funky shorts, both were fidgeting around like energizer bunnies on drugs. When asked, Emmanuel replied, smiling ear to ear,

"I'm very excited right now. I have waited so long for this day. Thank you all for coming and supporting me today. I am so happy!"

David couldn't keep the grin off his face either. He held it for so long afterwards that I suspect it will freeze that way for as long as he lives (at least that's what my momma told me when I was four).

So cheers to the both of them from all of us at transit. Let the race begin!
